Picacho Peak - Hunter Trail 12/06/2014

Last Saturday I hiked Picacho Peak with the youth group from my church.  Typically I do it every year around Thanksgiving/Christmas.  I've been doing it since I moved down into the area in 2006.  I did turn 40 recently so I don't know if that played into it but I felt trashed after doing it this year!  It always takes me by surprise how intense it is.

This bad boy starts at around 2000 feet and the climb up to the saddle takes you to over 2,600 feet.  Getting all the way to the top puts you at over 3,300 feet.  This is all done in 2 miles!  It is a great hike that is challenging.  There are cables along the way so I always bring leather gloves and it is worth it.
It's a great winter hike!
